Additive Manufacturing

Additive manufacturing is a fabrication process through which the material (plastic or metal) is deposited layer by layer in a controlled manner and at the desired position. By means of this technology, complex and functional parts can be developed in comparison with other conventional manufacturing technologies.

Additive manufacturing processes present several advantages like: (i) time reduction for product development, (ii) introducing topology optimization processes, and consequently, developing products with a larger efficiency, (iii) reduction of delivery times, (iv) and costs, (v) decreasing waste materials ratio, among others.

In the last years, CATEC has been recognized as one of the top leaders in the field of additive manufacturing for the aeronautical and space sectors, and with a large list of developed applications (in collaboration with our customers) for military and commercial aircrafts, space launchers, satellites and unmanned systems.
