History
The Advanced Center for Aerospace Technologies (CATEC) is a center implemented and managed by the Andalusian Foundation for Aerospace Development (FADA).
Its implementation begins at the end of the first quarter of 2008, with the hiring of specialized personnel whose role will be the development and implementation of the different departments that will structure the Center. During this period, the Center is set up in provisional offices of the EUROCEEI business center, and from there it will start designing the definitive facilities and infrastructures, to develop and develop the first R & D & I projects and will achieve its qualification as an Advanced Technological Center in the Andalusian Registry of Knowledge Agents.
In June 2010, the transfer to the CATEC facilities at the AEROPOLIS Andalusian Technological and Aeronautical Park took place. From this moment, the start-up work of the scientific-technological infrastructures that will culminate with the official inauguration of CATEC in January of 2011 will be intensified. During this period, the center will make an important effort in the definition of its lines of research, the implementation of R & D & I projects related to these lines, its approval as a research center at national and European level and the structuring of the organization itself along with the implementation of an integrated quality system. Currently, CATEC continues to work intensely in the generation of knowledge through the implementation of research and development projects both internally and in collaboration with companies and organizations at the regional, national and European levels.
