Job description

We are activating a selection process for the incorporation of the position described below in our headquarters in Seville.

We are looking for a UAS Pilot Coordinator to join CATEC’s Flight Test and New Prototypes Unit, responsible for managing and supervising CATEC’s drone flight operations, ensuring they are performed safely, efficiently and in compliance with current standards/regulations.

Main functions:

-. UAS Flight Planning and Coordination: Plans and coordinates flight missions to optimise the use of resources (pilots, flight centres, equipment) ensuring that drones meet their objectives effectively and on schedule.

-. Pilot Supervision: Manages and supports CATEC’s UAS pilots, ensuring that training/accreditations are current, as well as periodic evaluations to maintain high standards of operation.

-. Regulatory Compliance: Ensures that all UAS flight operations comply with the requirements identified by CATEC’s UAS Permits and Authorisations area.

-. Coordination with CATEC Project Managers: Work closely with other CATEC departments to ensure that the different projects are executed in a timely manner with regard to the validation phase of the projects.

  • Formal training as a UAS, manned aircraft or air traffic controller pilot.
  • Experience with Mapping Programmes
  • High level of spoken and written English (C1)

At least 2 years of work experience coordinating UAS pilots. Ability to interpret meteorological services, windsocks and radar systems. Knowledge of aeronautical communications and altimetry. Experience with unmanned aerial systems and aeronautical safety culture will be an asset.
