EIFEDE

Innovation Ecosystem for the Promotion of the Data Economy in the Energy Sector.

Project launched through the Innovation Ecosystems Call by the CDTI (Centre for the Study of Technology) and the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities.
EIFEDE is comprised of the Institute of Information Technology (ITI) as coordinator; the National Association of Energy Service Companies (ANESE); the communications company BACAAM; and the Technology Centers CATEC, CTIC, ITG, and ITCL.

The main driver of this initiative is to strengthen the ecosystem of energy and energy services companies through the incorporation of data-driven technologies. To this end, the consortium’s core activities include holding seminars, publishing analyses, and developing demonstrators to encourage the adoption of new technologies in business activities in the energy sector. These technologies include digital twins, data analysis, AI, data spaces, various cybersecurity techniques, and the integration of edge processing and Big Data methods for more efficient information management.

With a duration of 18 months from July 2024 to December 2025, the project addresses various dissemination and innovation objectives:

  • Develop strategic and market reports that provide companies with key information for data-driven decision-making.
  • Promoting individualized technological innovation in companies through detailed analysis, innovation diagnostics, and customized roadmaps.
  • Develop and execute pioneering experiments and proofs of concept in data technologies, with a special focus on the energy sector, to drive innovation and the practical application of digital solutions.
  • Use experimentation to identify and implement solutions that improve energy efficiency, contributing to environmental sustainability.
  • Provide technical training programs in innovative technologies for professionals and external entities interested in the sector.
  • Advance skills in AI policy, regulatory, and ethical issues to facilitate transfer to the innovative ecosystem.
  • Design and implement business training programs to enhance entrepreneurial skills in the use of advanced technologies.
  • Organize specialized webinars to disseminate knowledge and success stories in the use of innovative technologies.
  • Coordinate participation in a national conference to highlight the impact of the ecosystem and its members.

With a total budget of €1,207,706.00, EIFEDE promotes the development of sector reports, the organization of various events and seminars, various training programs, access to the consortium’s experimental facilities, among other dissemination and development activities.
