Summary
EAGLE is a project focused on addressing specific lines of research in the ecological and digital transition strategy. Regarding the ecological transition, the project contributes to aspects such as decarbonization and the deployment of renewable energy, specifically offshore wind, by improving operation and maintenance activities with the use of unmanned aircraft. This makes these activities more cost-effective and improves the installation of these energy infrastructures.
Furthermore, this project’s contributions also focus on the digital modeling of all drone operations in the offshore wind energy sector. This includes the digitalization of power generation elements (offshore wind turbines), the digitalization of support vessels, the digitalization of unmanned aircraft, and the digitalization of the airspace (microclimate and CFD modeling) and marine environment (wave modeling), as well as the interfaces between the various elements.
