METALIA

Enabling Technologies for the Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the Additive Manufacturing Value Chain of New Metal Alloys

PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES

The METALIA project (“Enabling Technologies for the Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the Additive Manufacturing Value Chain of New Metal Alloys”) Its general objective is to strengthen the capacities of the Spanish industrial fabric through implementation of artificial intelligence tools (IA), for the optimization of the additive manufacturing (AM) value chain of new metal materials: design, manufacturing, post-processing and life cycle analysis; as well as the validation of the AI tools developed in prototypes from different industrial sectors, mainly in industrial biotechnology applications, aeronautical, space, and industrial sectors, among others, increasing the industrialization possibilities of additive manufacturing thanks to automated quality control, improved productivity, and the expansion of materials usable by the technology, contributing to boosting the competitiveness of Spanish industry.

Furthermore, the four-year TransMisiones 2023 initiative project aims to foster effective collaboration between the companies that make up the CDTI group and the research centers of the AEI group, fostering an environment conducive to the generation of scientific results at advanced levels of technological maturity thanks to a successful transfer between scientific research and technological development.
